The Tea Towel Shop is an established small family business based in West Sussex in Southern England - our customer base is worldwide. We provide a professional and friendly shopping experience, and we are a member of the Federation of Small Businesses.
We appreciate your concern over security - The Tea Towel Shop is a secure site - it uses SSL encyption on every page (https://) which ensures any data you enter on our website is encrypted and secure.
The Tea Towel Shop is an internet mail order business - we do not have retail premises and are unable to offer a collection service.
The linen tea towels we sell are genuine Ulster Weavers pure linen tea towels, they are brand new with labels/tags.
Our preferred method of communication is via email as this means we both have a record of our correspondence. All calls to our telephone number 01273 808298 go directly to our answermachine service - please leave a message and your UK landline telephone number, and we will call you back as soon as we can.
You do not need to create an account with us to make a purchase.
If you are sending the tea towels as a gift we offer a FREE Gift Card service.

We use Worldpay & Create Payments to process payments on our website. Worldpay & Create Payments are fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) which requires that all cardholder information is processed and transmitted securely. All major debit & credit cards are accepted. The Tea Towel Shop does not see any of your card details.

International Money Order
We regret we are unable to accept payment by International Money Order.
We are not VAT registered and do not charge VAT on your purchases.
We aim to despatch purchases within 1-2 working days (working days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK Bank Holidays). If there is likely to be a despatch delay of more than 2 working days, especially during busy periods, we will add message which you will see during the checkout process.

ROYAL MAIL - We post to UK, Europe and Worldwide.
Orders over £30 in value are sent via a signed for or tracked service to ensure that your items are insured whilst in the postal system. We may also decide to send your tea towels in more than one package.
If you wish to purchase more than 20 tea towels please contact us for details of your postal options, thank you.
IMPORTANT - If you ask us to add a note to your parcel asking the postie to deliver your parcel to an address other than the one you give as the delivery address, for example "Please leave next door if no reply", or "Please leave behind shed", we regret your parcel and its contents will not be covered for loss as we will be unable to make a claim for non-delivery with Royal Mail consequently will be unable to refund/replace your order.
COLLECT+ We offer our UK customers the option to have their tea towels delivered using the Collect+ service. You can have your order delivered to your home, or to one of over 5,000 local corner shops, open from early morning until late and 7 days a week, ready for collection at a time that suits you.
Should you choose to have your pacel sent to your local Collect+ shop they will keep your parcel for 10 days - and send you two reminders to your mobile phone number (if provided) or your email address in case you forget it's there.
When you're ready to pick your parcel up, just take along your unique 7-character Collect+ code (which we will have provided to you) and some proof of ID. The shopkeeper will enter your code, check your ID and hand over your parcel.
Collect+ delivery generally takes 3-5 days and your parcel can be tracked via the Collect+ website.

Are you sending tea towels as a Gift?
To avoid any confusion we will attach a label to the outside of the parcel to advise the recipient that we have sent the package on your behalf. Your receipt/invoice will be emailed to you. If you would prefer us NOT to indicate who the parcel is from please let us know...however it is important to note that this could mean your intended gift is returned to us if the recipient refuses delivery. Should this occur we regret we will only be able to refund you with the cost of the tea towels excluding the P&P)
For countries outside of European Union we will attach a Customs Declaration form to the front of your parcel clearly indicating the contents and value, and will indicate that it is a Gift. Please let us know when sending payment if there are any other regulations regarding gifts in place in the destination country which require additional specific wording on the Customs Declaration form or parcel.
Even though the Customs Form will indicate that the parcel is a Gift most countries have duty free limits - the recipient will be responsible for any customs/import duties/fees appropriate in the country of import if the value of the parcel is above their country's duty free limit, or if other charges apply in that country.
Your tea towels will be carefully packed in a grip-seal bag (which will have a small hole for safety reasons) - this bag is then placed in a plastic mailing bag. Larger orders may be packaged in a recycled box.
Change of Mind
You have a 14 day period which starts when you receive the goods to cancel all or part of your purchase (called a cooling-off period). Should you change your mind and decide you do not wish to purchase the items they must be returned to us unused, and in their original packaging within that period, together with your invoice and returns number details.
Faulty or not as described
If your tea towels are faulty or not as described we will replace (wherever possible) or refund the purchase price of the tea towels being returned (including postage costs. or portion of postage costs if you are returning part of your order). The faulty, or not as described, tea towels must be returned to us within 14 days of receipt with their original packaging, together with your invoice and returns number details.
Please contact us before returning items for a returns number. We recommend that you use Recorded Delivery/Special Delivery when returning items as we are unable to refund monies if items are not safely received by us.

If you are returning goods from overseas you must clearly mark the package "Returned goods of UK origin" to enable UK Customs clearance. If you do not do this and Customs charge duty on the return we will reject the package and it will be returned to you at your expense.
Your parcel has not arrived?

Although the vast majority of items sent via Royal Mail are delivered as expected, Royal Mail does not accept that items are lost or missing in the post until after 15 working days (UK addresses), 20 working days (European addresses) and 25 working days (rest of the world) from the date of posting.
If you are concerned that your parcel has gone astray please do let us know, however we will be unable to replace (wherever possible) or refund until 15(UK), 20 (Europe), 25 (rest of the world), working days have elapsed since the posting date. Should we need to claim for a lost parcel you may be contacted by Royal Mail during their investigation process.
Wherever possible we will replace items lost in the post once, but should the second package be lost in the post, or be returned undelivered for any reason, we regret we will be unable to attempt delivery a 3rd or subsequent time. Should a second package be lost in the post or returned to us we will refund your original payment in full.
IMPORTANT: Our carriers will only consider claims for lost items within a certain timescale so should your item(s) not arrive within 40 working days of the date of your order please let us know VIA EMAIL. We regret we are unable to refund for items lost in the post if you do not let us know you have not received your item(s) within 40 working days of the date your order was placed with The Tea Towel Shop.
